We lost our girl Oro on June 9th. It’s been a summer of grief. She really was the best and most loved dog, my adventure buddy and irreplaceable best friend.

The title of this piece is from a poem by Mary Oliver - “Her Grave”.

This is my first glow-in-the-dark painting... 

It’s been a revelatory year. Events of 2020 exposed a lot of ugliness within my community... and within myself. I’ve become significantly more misanthropic. Conversely, it's been a year of rest, reflection, family togetherness, and spending time in more mindful ways, including being outside and opting out of a lot of garbage that I might have otherwise given my energy to.

 My meticulous nature is exhausting sometimes. Here are some sloppy hands.

But perhaps the ultimate of these thin places in the human condition are the experiences people are likely to have as they encounter suffering, joy, and mystery.”
